Today I put in the cockpit coaming. The basic purpose

of this piece is to keep water out when you go through wave,

hold on a spray skirt, look cool, and strengthen the deck.

The piece I put in was preformed for me, out of mahogany.

Holding the coaming in is an epoxy fillet, made of epoxy,

silica powder, and sawdust for color.

Second coat of epoxy it on, starting to shine a bit..

It took about an hour to put the first coat of epoxy on,

because it really soaks in to the wood. The next two coats

should go really quick.

The first coat of epoxy is on, two left.

The cloth is sitting on it now, all ready to go.

All ready to fiberglass!!!
